yo pple! finally i'm blogging again! wahaha... muz understand tt me canNOT blog under stress, n de last few wks haf been hell. haiz... n straight after de stupid conference, had to rush over to penang de next day. *suffocated* nway, sid dear, if u're reading dis, sara may haf told u by now our horrible q&a session.. haiz... in short: our research was skewed n not representative - which was exactly wat we wrote in our limitations! duh. but de CDU person HAD to harp on tt fact OVER THE MICROPHONE!! ggrrr... so we're like left to defend ourselves wif paper plates while they hurled knives n spears at us. haiz... (obviously i'm juz being figurative, but de actual situation wasn't much far off). so OBVIOUSLY, we din get de best paper prize... let's observe one minute's silence to mourn de horrible experience. hopefully i'll not develop some phobia of conferences (conferencophobia??!!!)
nway, moving on to happier topics. am now happily ensconced in a chair at starbucks!! where it's de ONLY place we can get wireless connection. apparently our bungalow was too "ulu" for pple to have wireless tt we can "steal"... heh... have decided tt i shall blog on ms word 1st, den copy n paste to blogger when i get connection. tink we're really isolated fr de rest of de world!! wah...
Departure:
being de aunties tt we r, we all got so excited on de prospect of taking SIA flight to penang. so was happily chit chatting away while walking to our airport gate, which was gate 33. so there goes four chiobus (puke? it's de truth wad! heh...) waddling happily to our gates. "wat's our gate no. ah?" "gate 33 lor" "oh..." *looks up n sees gate 50* "so not yet reach la... shld be further down rite?" happily walk n talk summore. *looks up n sees gate 53* "it's right at de end la hor?" "hmm.... tink so la. shld be lor." happily walk summore. *looks up n sees gate 57, 58, 59 n 60... n den DEAD END* "eh? where's gate 33??" "shit! we walk wrong direction izzit?" "har? not juz walk straight den reach le meh?" "shit! 20 mins to take off!" *starts running back fr where we came fr* *Airport PA system: Last call for SQ198 going to Penang. Passengers please proceed to boarding gate NOW." *frantic rushing n scampering* LACTIC ACID ATTACK + decrease PULMONARY function commences. finally discovers tt gate 33 is located around a right turn from the main corridor. phew. Lesson learnt: Don't just talk n walk straight. Look out for signboards!
Arrival: yay!! we've reached Penang!! was a wonderful flight! but regretful tt it was too short a flight (50mins) for me to completely navigate their in-flight entertainment system (so many movies to watch! but no time... sad.). out from de airplane n someone says, "i need to go toilet!" okie! wait lor. everyone present already? let's go! our hosts r waiting for us at de arrival hall. eh, which way to go ah? hmm... dunno. juz walk STRAIGHT lor! (obviously, we haf impaired learning abilities. duh.) wah.. actually de penang airport not bad also wor! quite a lot of shops ah... aiyah... where to go? all de passenger crowd disappear liao... anyhow walk la... *10mins later* yay! we found de baggage collection point! collect luggage n see everyone gg to security checkpoint. let's follow de crowd! wait! how come after security checkpoint is the arrival gates already ah? no need to chop passport meh? *security guard signals us to put luggage on x-ray machine* "erm... sorry ah... no need to go thr customs ah?" "customs is THERE la!!" *guard points to a row of counters on our far left* "oops!!" am sooooo amazed tt we nearly became ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS!! omg. cld haf juz entered m'sia w/o chopping our passports lor....
Last words: Food is damn gd here. BUT we're working an average of 15hrs/day!! wth?! cos got so much paperwork n documentation to do!!! argh! n de autistic children get damn weird n scary at times! abit afraid of having babies in future... ahaha... hope we can get more free time next wk!!
